Where to turn for help

Bucks County Transport. People who live in Doylestown and surrounding communities can travel on the DART bus system along three basic, interconnected routes. The fare is $1 per ride and people age 65 and over ride for free.

DOYLESTOWN DART travels through the county seat’s central business district and includes stops at Penn Medicine — Doylestown Health and Delaware Valley University. It operates from 8:30 a.m. to 5:26 p.m., Monday through Friday.

DART WEST runs along Business Route 202 through Chalfont Borough to New Britain Borough and Township and connects with DOYLESTOWN DART at Delaware Valley University. Operation from 9:15 a.m. to 4:56 p.m., Monday through Friday.

DART SOUTH stops at locations along Route 611 and Street Road and connects with DOYLESTOWN DART services at Doylestown Pointe Shopping Center at Easton and Almshouse roads at the Giant supermarket. It operates from 9 a.m. to 5:35 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bucks County Transport also provides shared-ride services on its white and blue BCT buses for medical appointments, shopping and entertainment, restaurants, hair salons and barbers.

The service is available to the general public but people over the age of 65 pay 15% of the general public fare. For example, for a one-way trip of up to four miles, seniors would pay $4.50 and others $30.

BCT also offers a Medical Assistance Transportation program for qualified riders and a Disabilities Services program for people with physical or intellectual disabilities.
