Transportation opens doors to independence, healthcare, and community participation—especially for individuals with disabilities. That message was front and center on May 14th as Bucks County Transport participated in the Disability Resource Fair hosted by State Representative Timothy Brennan and State Senator Steve Santarsiero at the Doylestown Community Recreation Center
BCT’s Customer Service & Administrative Manager Lisa Lange and Customer Relations Manager Ellen Melson represented BCT at the event, which drew a strong turnout of individuals from Upper and Central Bucks County seeking resources and support services.
Throughout the day, Lisa and Ellen spoke with several individuals who are currently facing transportation challenges. These direct conversations allowed BCT’s team to understand specific needs, explain available services, and provide information about how paratransit can help restore independence and access to essential appointments.
Beyond connecting with potential clients, the fair provided valuable networking opportunities with other service providers. Lisa and Ellen engaged with various vendors, answering questions about BCT’s services and exploring how transportation solutions could benefit the clients these organizations serve.
“These conversations with other providers are invaluable,” the BCT team noted. “When case managers, therapists, medical coordinators, and social workers understand what BCT offers, they can better support their clients in accessing the transportation they need.”
The Disability Resource Fair exemplified collaborative community support, bringing together service providers under one roof to ensure individuals with disabilities know what resources are available to them. Representative Brennan and Senator Santarsiero’s commitment to hosting this event demonstrates strong legislative leadership in supporting the disability community.
