Bucks County Transport (BCT) is proud to announce that Rebecca Brown, Paratransit Aide at the South Terminal, has been selected as the inaugural winner of our new quarterly STAR Employee Bonus Program. Rebecca received two heartfelt nominations from her colleagues, recognizing her exceptional dedication and impact on both clients and coworkers.
Introducing the STAR Employee Program
BCT launched the STAR Employee Bonus Program on July 1, 2025, to celebrate team members who truly embody the organization’s core values: Communication, Courage, Impact, Passion, Honesty, and Selflessness. The program empowers employees to nominate colleagues who go above and beyond in their service to clients and contribution to BCT’s mission.
Why Rebecca Stands Out
Rebecca’s nominators praised her remarkable ability to connect with BCT’s passengers. One Driver who nominated her noted Rebecca’s exceptional communication skills and her talent for maintaining a positive environment on the bus.
“Rebecca demonstrates the necessary qualities required to fulfill her position as a monitor,” wrote the driver. “Her ability to control, maintain self-confidence, engage in conversations, and inject humor are all qualities required to work with our clients.”
The nomination highlighted Rebecca’s awareness of individual personalities and her skill in managing seating arrangements to prevent conflicts while promoting positive social interactions. He particularly admired her ability to “deflate a potential crisis before it even happens” through her non-threatening communication style.
Another driver echoed these sentiments in her nomination, emphasizing Rebecca’s genuine care for passengers. “Each day she will ask each one how their day was and what project they worked on. She encourages the passengers and praises them for their accomplishments,” the driver wrote.
Creating Joy in Every Journey
Both nominators described how Rebecca transforms the daily commute into an enjoyable experience. She tells stories, plays word games, and even gets the whole bus singing along to the radio. Most importantly, she treats everyone fairly and includes all passengers regardless of their limitations.
“She tries to make the ride home enjoyable for myself, the driver, and the passengers,” noted one driver. “Rebecca was given a challenge when assigned to this bus route. The bus is so peaceful with happy passengers. She single-handedly is the best monitor I have ever had.”
Recognition and Rewards
As BCT’s first STAR Employee, Rebecca received a $500 bonus, framed certificate, special recognition pin, and a celebration at her work location complete with cake. Her achievement will also be featured on BCT’s website and social media channels.
The STAR Employee Program reflects BCT’s commitment to recognizing the dedicated individuals who make our paratransit service exceptional. Rebecca’s win demonstrates how one person’s compassion, professionalism, and positive attitude can truly make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Congratulations to Rebecca Brown for setting the standard as our first STAR Employee!
The next nomination period is now underway. Nomination boxes are available at all BCT locations for employees to recognize their deserving colleagues.
