The South Terminal was buzzing with excitement today as BCT honored Brittany Todd, Driver, as the STAR Employee winner for the January-March 2026 quarter. Colleagues gathered to celebrate Brittany’s exceptional dedication and the composure she demonstrated during a challenging moment that exemplified BCT’s core values.
A Well-Deserved Recognition
Nominated by Customer Relations Manager Ellen Melson, Brittany was recognized for her outstanding professionalism on December 30th when an unexpected situation arose on her bus. In that moment, Brittany’s calm demeanor and clear communication made all the difference for her passengers.
Values in Action
Brittany’s handling of the situation showcased exactly what BCT’s core values—Communication, Impact, and Respect—look like in practice. Rather than reacting with stress, she prioritized her passengers’ well-being, communicated clearly, and ensured everyone felt safe and cared for. “Brittany demonstrated respect for individuals and showed real care—that’s impact,” Ellen wrote.
Today’s Celebration
At today’s award ceremony at the South Terminal, Brittany was presented with her framed certificate and special recognition pin. The celebration, complete with cake and congratulations from her colleagues, reflected the genuine appreciation the BCT team has for Brittany’s dedication to excellence in service.
Recognizing Excellence Across BCT
The STAR Employee Program also recognized this quarter’s other outstanding nominees: Kurt Brown, Jenn Dunn, Lynn Levy, and Jim Roth.
Brittany’s win reminds us all that the most important moments in paratransit aren’t always the routine trips—sometimes they’re the unexpected situations where professionalism, compassion, and quick thinking make all the difference.
Congratulations, Brittany Todd—you truly are a STAR!
