BCT’s Jim Donnelly Participates in the 155th Annual Doylestown Memorial Day Parade

On May 27, 2024, Bucks County Transport (BCT) driver Jim Donnelly proudly represented our organization in the 156th Annual Doylestown Memorial Day Parade, the oldest Memorial Day Parade in the United States. This annual event is held to honor American Veterans whose sacrifices in defense of our nation and its democratic ideals have secured the freedoms we cherish today.

The parade, which began at Central Bucks West High School, featured approximately 1,700 participants representing over 100 separate units, including eight local school bands. An estimated 15,000 spectators lined the parade route to show their support and gratitude for our veterans.

Jim Donnelly skillfully navigated a BCT vehicle in the parade, joining the procession as it moved east on West Court Street, then east on West State Street, north on Main Street, and finally east on East Court Street to Doylestown Cemetery. The parade culminated with a poignant 30-minute memorial service at the cemetery, where the United Veterans of Doylestown placed wreaths to honor our fallen heroes.

As a paratransit non-profit organization, BCT recognizes the importance of supporting our community and paying tribute to those who have served our country. Jim Donnelly’s participation in the Doylestown Memorial Day Parade was a shining example of our commitment to honoring our veterans and engaging with our community.

BCT remains dedicated to serving our community and honoring our veterans, not only on Memorial Day but throughout the year. We are proud of Jim Donnelly’s involvement in this event and look forward to participating in future events that celebrate the spirit of our community and the sacrifices of our heroes.
