BCT Provides Transportation for Bridge Renaming Honoring Fallen Local Hero

On Friday, April 19, 2024, Bucks County Transport (BCT) provided transportation services for the bridge renaming ceremony honoring fallen soldier Staff Sgt. Jae S. Moon. BCT was honored to support this event recognizing the ultimate sacrifice made by the local military hero.

The ceremony took place at 10:30am at the Trenton Road Bridge over I-295 in Middletown Township. State Representative Joe Hogan hosted the renaming, attending alongside First Secretary Bumgen Cho from the Korean Consulate, Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, State Senator Frank Farry, members of Staff Sgt. Moon’s family, local officials, and veteran organizations.

Staff Sgt. Moon, a Bucks County native, was killed in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2007 at the age of 30. He served two tours in Iraq as an infantryman in the U.S. Army. The bridge renaming is a somber tribute to honor Staff Sgt. Moon’s courageous service and profound sacrifice for his country.

BCT employees Diane Schillings and trainee Michael Stecklair provided the transportation services for attendees to ensure Staff Sgt. Moon’s family and community members could take part in the ceremony.

“BCT was humbled to have Diane and Michael driving for this powerful event remembering one of Bucks County’s bravest soldiers,” said BCT CEO Jim Raymond. “It was a moment to reflect on Staff Sgt. Moon’s heroism and service.”

The organization’s employees, several of whom are veterans themselves, were proud to assist in facilitating this bridge renaming.

Mr. Raymond added, ” We hope providing rides allowed Staff Sgt. Moon’s family members and the veteran community to more easily attend and be part of this special recognition.”
