BCT Provides Shuttle Services for DelVal’s A-Day

This past weekend, Bucks County Transport (BCT) played a key role in the 74th annual A-Day at Delaware Valley University. Three drivers from the paratransit non-profit – John Sikora, Jim Donnelly, and Jim Masters on Saturday, and John Sikora, Jim Donnelly, and Dan Buzby on Sunday – provided shuttle services for the popular student-run fair.

A-Day is a longstanding tradition at DelVal, dating back over seven decades. The county fair-style event features farm animals, educational exhibits, pony rides, pig races, arts and crafts vendors, a tractor display, live music, and DelVal student competitions. Proceeds from the fair benefit the university’s student clubs and organizations.

Over the two-day event on Saturday and Sunday, the BCT drivers shuttled an impressive 1,753 people between the university’s parking areas and the A-Day festivities. Their services helped ensure smooth transportation for visitors attending the fair.

“We were proud to provide transportation and support the Delaware Valley University community for such a great cause,” said Jim Raymond, CEO of BCT. “Our drivers enjoyed being a part of this cherished tradition.”

A-Day celebrated its 74th year in 2024, continuing its status as one of the longest-running events of its kind in the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs. The fair offers a taste of agricultural life and allows DelVal to showcase its unique experiential learning environment.
