On Friday, October 4, 2024, Bucks County Transport (BCT) took part in a Senior Expo sponsored by Pennsylvania State Representative Shelby Labs. The event was held at the Pennridge Community Center in Perkasie from 10 AM to 1 PM, providing local seniors with valuable information about various services available to them.
BCT was represented at the expo by North Terminal Manager Audra Chantelau. Her presence underscored BCT’s commitment to serving the senior population in Bucks County and ensuring they are aware of the transportation options available to them.
Audra engaged with many seniors throughout the event, providing detailed information about BCT’s services and answering questions. “I enjoyed the interaction with the seniors and giving information about our services,” she said. “Many didn’t realize the parameters of the service and the flexibility that BCT offered.”
One of the key benefits of BCT’s participation was the opportunity to educate attendees about the full scope of our services. Chantelau provided comprehensive information about all of BCT’s programs, helping seniors understand the various transportation options available to them.
“It was rewarding to see how surprised and pleased many seniors were when they learned about the extent of our services,” Chantelau added. “Our goal is to ensure that transportation is never a barrier for seniors accessing essential services or maintaining their independence.”
The expo provided an excellent platform for BCT to connect directly with the senior community, addressing their concerns and explaining how our services can enhance their daily lives. It also allowed for valuable networking with other organizations serving the senior population in Bucks County.
BCT’s participation in this Senior Expo aligns with our ongoing mission to provide accessible, reliable transportation to all members of our community, with a particular focus on those who might otherwise face mobility challenges.
