BCT Participates in Senior Expo Hosted by PA State Rep. Timothy Brennan and PA State Senator Santarsiero

On Friday, September 6, 2024, Bucks County Transport (BCT) took part in a Senior Expo co-hosted by State Representative Timothy Brennan and State Senator Santarsiero. The event was held at the Central Bucks Senior Center, providing a central location for seniors in the community to access valuable resources and information.

BCT was represented at the expo by two staff members: Lisa Triolo, Office Manager and Outreach Coordinator, and Ellen Melson, Customer Service Manager. Their presence at the event underscored BCT’s commitment to serving the senior population in Bucks County and ensuring they are aware of the transportation options available to them.

The Senior Expo aims to connect older adults with various services and resources within the community. As a crucial transportation provider for seniors in the area, BCT’s participation was particularly significant.

Throughout the event, Lisa Triolo and Ellen Melson engaged with numerous seniors and their families, providing information about BCT’s services. They answered questions about our paratransit options, explained the process for scheduling rides, and discussed the various destinations covered by our transportation network.

Ellen Melson said, “We received a lot of positive feedback from seniors who were grateful to learn about transportation options they weren’t previously aware of. It’s rewarding to know that we’re making a real difference in people’s lives.”

The expo also provided an opportunity for BCT staff to network with other organizations serving the senior community.

BCT’s participation in this Senior Expoaligns with our ongoing mission to provide accessible, reliable transportation to all members of our community, with a particular focus on those who might otherwise face mobility challenges.

We extend our gratitude to Rep. Brennan and Sen. Santarsiero for organizing this valuable event and look forward to continuing our support of local seniors through participation in future community events.
