On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, Bucks County Transport (BCT) participated in a significant community event hosted by the Bucks County Intermediate Unit at the Bucks County Court House. The event, which ran from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, was primarily focused on supporting young adults with disabilities who are transitioning from school to the workforce or seeking greater independence.
BCT’s Office Manager/Outreach Coordinator, Lisa Triolo, represented BCT at this important gathering. The event provided a valuable platform for young adults with disabilities and their families to explore various resources and services available in the community to support their transition into adulthood and the working world.
During the event, Lisa had the opportunity to meet with numerous families who expressed enthusiasm about utilizing BCT’s services to help young adults commute to and from work. Many attendees had questions about BCT’s service area, reservation processes, and eligibility requirements. Lisa was able to provide detailed information and guidance, helping families understand how BCT can play a crucial role in supporting their loved ones’ independence and career aspirations.
“It was a fun event where I got to meet some wonderful families,” Lisa shared. ” It’s clear that reliable transportation is a key factor in helping these young adults achieve their goals.”
Events like these underscore BCT’s commitment to serving all members of our community. By participating in such initiatives, we continue to raise awareness about our services and demonstrate our dedication to promoting independence and accessibility for all Bucks County residents.
We look forward to serving these new families and continuing our mission of providing essential transportation services to those who need them most.
