scheduling a ride
After you have registered, you can schedule a ride by calling 1-888-795-0740. Transportation is available Monday through Friday between 6am and 6pm (other hours by special arrangement). Transportation outside of Bucks County may be limited to certain days/times. Please call 1-888-795-0740 for details.
Please schedule your ride at least 48 hours in advance. If you are calling exactly two days in advance, please call by 2:30pm so we have enough time to get you scheduled. Please schedule your pick-up time for at least one hour before your actual appointment time. Our vehicles are considered "on time" if arriving within 30 minutes before or after scheduled pick-up times, as well as arriving within 30 minutes after a scheduled return time. Please plan your trip accordingly.
When scheduling, we will need:
- the complete address of your destination (including location of any specific entrance) and phone number
- information on any special needs (i.e. a wheelchair lift, if an escort will be with passenger, etc.)
cancelling a ride
To cancel a ride, please call 215-794-5556 at least 2 hours before your scheduled pick-up time. If a rider cancels 2 consecutive weeks of "Standing Order" trips, the "Standing Order" will be inactivated and the rider must reschedule any trips at least 2 days in advance. ("Standing Order" trips are repeat trips that are automatically added to the schedule for the same day, time and destination each week).
If a rider fails to cancel a trip at least 2 hours before the scheduled pick-up time, this is considered a "no-show". Riders with 3 consecutive "no-shows" or 5 total "no-shows" in a month may be suspended from transportation for 1 month. If that rider has another "no-show" after a suspension, they will be permanently remove from the shared ride program.
Assistance/Escorts
Basic service is curb-to-curb, and drivers will assist passengers on and off the vehicle if so noted upon registration, or if requested at time of scheduling. If door-to-door service is required, you may need an escort. Escorts are permitted to ride free of charge when a document from your medical provider is on file with BCT stating that the rider requires assistance to travel.
Funding for the Persons with Disabilities Program is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
